PersonalityNoel is the more childish of the twins, prone to distraction and getting lost in his own thoughts. He's the one who is more playful and cocky on missions, but is also more likely to use underhanded methods such as blackmail and trickery to win a battle.Noel is also more prone to fits of anger and frustration due to the lingering injury that's steadily causing him to go blind. He's quick to snap and lash out should someone even slightly hint at his abilities lacking compared to his older twin's.Though loyal to the Emperor, he's beginning to question things here and there; especially as both Belos and his sibling pull away from him. Doubting himself, his role in things, and if they really are in the right. Noel is also scared of his uncle and if punished or even spoken harshly to, will find a place to curl up and cry.He's a genuinely warm and friendly teenager, though is more wary and guarded due to his life experiences. He cares deeply for the people closest to him and feels guilty if he either can't help them, or has to go against them for some reason.When taking on the Golden Guard identity, Noel begins to lose his sense of self; suffering from depersonalization and doesn't really understand what's happening. He'll still act cocky and playful, but also more ruthless and robotic.

PastNoel is the younger twin of a duo who were once known as the Golden Guards. The nephews of Belos and being powerless witches, they were still lauded as child prodigies and were set to become possibly the most powerful duo the Boiling Isles had ever seen.However, on one mission Noel was badly injured by a powerful force of concussive magic. It seared his eyes and knocked him back hard enough to crack his skull and cause a serious amount of brain damage. Though he was healed, Noel has been slowly losing his eyesight. In the interest of safety for the both of them, Noel faked his death and now he and his sibling take turns playing the Golden Guard.Though how much longer that can last is up to debate, as his eyesight keeps fading, as is Belos' interest in him.

SkillsMagic: Noel is a teen prodigy witch whom Emperor Belos, the most powerful witch alive, wants to keep close and gives special treatment to. However, due to being a powerless witch, all of his magic comes from the artificial staff built for him by Belos.After leaving the coven, Noel brought his artificial staff with him. But he mostly relies on his Palisman, Rascal and glyph magic, wanting to grow with those instead of relying on artificial means.His expertise with each type of magic in depth here.🐦︎Telekinesis: Noel is able to use his artificial magic to telekinetically move objects and individuals without touching them.🐦︎Matter Manipulation Magic: Able to manipulate sand and water from the Boiling Sea.🐦︎Creation Magic: Able to create a sword out of thin air, which seems to be made of flesh.🐦︎Water Magic: Can travel underwater via a giant arm.🐦︎Energy Blasts: Noel is able to shoot blasts of magical energy from his staff.🐦︎Teleportation: When using his artificial staff, Noel teleports with a red light and whooshing noise. With Rascal, he teleports with a golden light and a blipping noise.🐦︎Flight: Noel is able to use both his artificial staff and Rascal to fly.🐦︎Parkour: Although not an expert, Noel possesses agility and parkour skills. These were developed for situations where he couldn't completely rely on artificial magic, and as an element of surprise in fights.🐦︎Combat: Noel displays some degree of physical fighting skills, using his staff and agility to evade, parry and land attacks on his opponents. Much like his parkour and agility, he has these skills so he doesn’t have to overly rely on his artificial magic.🐦︎Glyph Magic: Once escaped from the Emperor's Coven, Noel learns glyph magic via Luz and becomes very proficient in it in a short amount of time. He's also able to incorporate glyphs into Rascal's staff and a violin given to him by Raine Whispers.🐦︎Violin Playing: After leaving the Emperor's Coven and being taken in by Raine, Noel began to learn how to play the violin like them. He's no master, but due to him having a high intellect and not knowing how to take breaks, he's become extremely good in only a matter of months.

He has severe corneal scarring and cortical blindness from being blinded and brain injury respectively. Incident in depth here.🐦︎At Hexside, Noel is on a dual Healer and Bard track. Even though it pained him to do so, Noel left the Emperor's Coven and his twin behind. Having been exposed to a life outside of his normal, he's come to see that the way Belos treated him and Goldie was wrong. Now he's trying to heal from a life time of trauma and abuse, while also continuing to reach out to his twin to get them out as well.

Noel is the younger twin of his elder sibling, the two of them playing the role of the Golden Guard together for Emperor Belos. Only a handful of people know that there are two instead of one.

🐦︎ Don’t Lose Ur Head 🐦︎

The worst has come to pass; the curse that’s affected the Wittebanes has now shown up in Noel. It’s starting slow, his irises turning blue and bleeding tar from his eyes and nails...but he knows that soon enough his mind will start to succumb to the curse as well. He’ll become more violent, unpredictable, and dangerous...and he’s very, very scared.Can take place while he’s still with the Emperor’s Coven or after he’s left to join the Owl House gang.

🐦︎ The Point of No Return 🐦︎

Belos is no longer a viable option to carry out his part of the plan with the Collector, due to his body and mind eroding from the curse. As such, the Collector turns his attention towards Noel—intending on using the younger twin by any means necessary.🐦︎In this verse, Noel ends up becoming the Emperor as Belos has been overtaken by the curse. Not everyone is happy with this decision, and he finds himself facing possible rebellion from coven heads, important families, and commoners alike.🐦︎He gives up Rascal to his twin, deciding to use Belos' staff from now on as a symbol of him being Emperor.🐦︎With the Collector now manipulating Noel by any means he can to enact his plans for revenge, Noel's sanity is eroding at a fast pace. It's unknown if he can be brought back from the brink of madness he's dancing along.

Noel had always been considered…strange by his peers. Not willing to confirm to the usual standards in his Massachusetts suburb town and about to be sent off to a boot camp for the summer, he instead finds his way to the Boiling Isles, and begins his journey to become a witch.🐦︎Timeline

A generic human verse. Noel is 16 years old, lives with his twin and uncle, and is studying to become a nurse someday. He has a hard time relaxing and taking breaks because he has a number of mental disabilities to fight with to get those stellar grades and be accepted into medical school someday.🐦︎The only verse where Noel isn’t going blind, however his eyesight is terrible and he wears contacts with a very strong prescription to see and glasses to be able to read.🐦︎Has a Maine Coon cat with a ginger coat who he’s named Rascal.🐦︎Is in therapy for his issues and medicated, but still struggles at times to deal with everything.🐦︎Really needs a break, good luck trying to make him take one.
